Recap by phillip woo

Odd-on favourite Zero Hedge was ridden along the entire trip in a handy spot after looking awkward when changing legs 750m out but still got up in the shadows of the post to win his debut. He's got potential and certainly wants a longer trip. Lunar Zephyr was up with the leaders, assumed the front 150m out and was nailed on the wire with a return to the straight 1,000m. He had put the writing on the wall in a few recent Valley runs and is a winner waiting to happen over the 1,000m at either track. Winfull Patrol was stopping 100m out after vying for the early lead in a return to form carrying a postage stamp weight. It was a much better run but still might need to fall further in the handicaps. Godspeed finished nicely from beyond midfield to nearly get up for a placing. He has turned the corner in recent runs but do prefer him over a longer trip. Gallant Rock gradually faded up on the speed. He's in the right grade but needs a track with a cushion. Nice Fandango was gone a long ways out after sitting handy on the far side from a low draw. He might have had unforeseen issues and is looking for a longer trip.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (680)-CHEERS HONG KONG HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Metres

A FAST ONE, which was fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin and then shortly after the start was crowded for room between FANTASTIC FABIO which was taken out by FLYING NOBLE and WHISTLE UP which was taken in by ZERO HEDGE.

In this incident, A FAST ONE blundered.

TELECOM TITAN was slow to begin.

FLYING NOBLE lost its right front plate after the 900 Metres.

Near the 850 Metres, after initially being directed to the outside of LUNAR ZEPHYR, ZERO HEDGE was directed back to the inside of that horse.

Passing the 700 Metres, GOLDINGTON HORN was shifted away from the heels of A FAST ONE.

Approaching the 300 Metres, INDIGENOUS STAR got its head on the side and shifted out.

Near the 250 Metres, WINFULL PATROL lay out and raced tight inside GALLANT ROCK.

GOLDINGTON HORN lost its right front plate near the 200 Metres.

Passing the 200 Metres, ENJOY LIFE was shifted out away from the heels of NICE FANDANGO which was giving ground.

After the 150 Metres, WINFULL PATROL raced tight outside the heels of LUNAR ZEPHYR.

After the race, O Doleuze was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of NICE FANDANGO.

He said the horse came under heavy pressure prior to the 500 Metres and then, despite being ridden along, weakened noticeably over the latter stages of the race.

A veterinary inspection of NICE FANDANGO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ZERO HEDGE and LUNAR ZEPHYR were sent for sampling.
