Recap by phillip woo

Agree worked up a head of steam travelling midfield to hit the front 20m out and just held off the fast-finishing Diamond Mysterious for a first win at his 10th start. The key to the win was a drop in grade but he'll still need to lift on his overall form in Class Three. Diamond Mysterious came on strongly very wide out to just miss after trailing the field from a wide gate. He has been knocking on the door and will be winning shortly. Metallic Star grudgingly gave way after assuming the lead 350m out from Regency Baby. He's always a chance at this level. Plunged to jump favourite, Regency Baby was on his tippy toes 150m out after taking a while to clear to the front from a wide gate. He needed the run following an injury-induced absence and can give a better sight next time out if he pulls up fine. Beloved kept on better following a prominent run with blinkers. He's naturally finding his feet in his seven starts. Owners' Prestige condition gave out 150m out following a box-seat run. The 1,400m is too far for him at this juncture in his life. Empire Star ran on without menacing from near the back. He's still learning.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (648)-THE WONG CUP (HANDICAP) (Sec2) - Class 4 - 1400Metres

BALAY BALAY was crowded for room on jumping between AGREE and MEISTERSTUECK which shifted in abruptly.

In this incident, BALAY BALAY and MEISTERSTUECK became badly unbalanced.

From the outside barrier, DIAMOND MYSTERIOUS was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 1050 Metres, BALAY BALAY, which had been hard ridden to improve its position, lost ground when crowded for room inside AGREE which was taken in by FRUITFUL LIFE (N Juglall).

After this, FRUITFUL LIFE was shifted out to relieve tightening to the runners to his inside.

N Juglall was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he leaves comfortable racing room for runners to his inside in similar circumstances.

Passing the 300 Metres, BELOVED was awkwardly placed outside OWNERS?? PRESTIGE which got its head on the side and shifted out.

Throughout the race, FRUITFUL LIFE travelled wide and without cover and subsequently finished tailed out.

After the race, N Juglall stated that FRUITFUL LIFE did not feel comfortable in its action.

A veterinary inspection of FRUITFUL LIFE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of FRUITFUL LIFE was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, FRUITFUL LIFE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

When questioned, S Clipperton stated that it had been hoped that BOLD STITCH, from a wide barrier, may be able to obtain a position in about midfield with cover.

He said however that due to the circumstances of the race in the early stages, BOLD STITCH was required to be taken back further in the field than had been hoped in order to obtain cover in a position closer to the rail.

He said at the entrance to the Straight BOLD STITCH raced tight between EMPIRE STAR and MEISTERSTUECK which shifted out.

He said after this BOLD STITCH was inclined to lay in behind LAUGH OUT LOUD.

He said he was able to shift BOLD STITCH to the outside of LAUGH OUT LOUD after the 400 Metres, however, the horse did not close off the race until the final stages.

He added whilst BOLD STITCH appeared disappointing, the circumstances of the race were considerably different to its last start when it was able to obtain a good position from an inside barrier.

A veterinary inspection of BOLD STITCH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of MEISTERSTUECK and LAUGH OUT LOUD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

REGENCY BABY, AGREE and DIAMOND MYSTERIOUS were sent for sampling.
