Thumped to jump favourite, Powermax took the sit behind the runaway leader You Read My Mind, hit the front 80m out and held off the late surge of Trump with first-time blinkers to continue his fine run of form with a third win from nine starts. He has the tools to head higher. Veteran closed off well after switching into the open from midfield to make it close in second to continue his fine sprint form at the city course this term. He's not getting any younger but remains a chance when next stepping out if he draws another proper gate. Roman Odyssey stayed on all right sitting a distant third to finish a clear-cut third. He's placed in two of his four starts but doesn't look anything special. Early favourite Perpetual Joyance was roused up at the 400m travelling behind midfield but only ran on without menacing. He might need to catch his breath after stringing together three wins and two seconds in his past five starts. Convincible ran on all right after pulling widest out at the 350m following a patient ride fourth from the rear in his first run at the Valley. He's likely better suited over the 1,650m but the big weight will continue to haunt him.

Race Six: (640)-DORSET HANDICAP (Sec1) - Class 3 - 1200Metres

NUMERO UNO, which was fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin.

HIGH AND MIGHTY began awkwardly.

As the start was effected, LET'S TAKE IT EASY turned its head on the right and consequently was slow to begin.

SMART BABY began only fairly.

On jumping, PERPETUAL JOYANCE was bumped heavily by I'M A WITNESS which shifted out.

CONVINCIBLE was crowded for room on jumping between ROYAL MOJITO and YOU READ MY MIND which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.

In this incident, ROYAL MOJITO became unbalanced after being bumped by CONVINCIBLE.

ROMAN ODYSSEY made the first turn near the 1000 Metres awkwardly and commenced to travel keenly after this.

In this incident, ROMAN ODYSSEY shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of I'M A WITNESS which became unbalanced.

For some distance after the 1000 Metres, HIGH AND MIGHTY proved very difficult to settle and near the 850 Metres got its head up when being checked away from the heels of PERPETUAL JOYANCE..

Passing the 200 Metres, ROYAL MOJITO shifted in and bumped SMART BABY.

For the majority of the race, ROYAL MOJITO travelled wide and without cover.

POWERMAX and TRUMP were sent for sampling.
