Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (513)-THE HONG KONG EXCHANGES CHALLENGE CUP (HANDICAP) (Sec1) - Class 3 - 1200Metres
NOBLE DE BOY was slow to begin.RAPHAEL and SICHUAN BOSS both began only fairly.
DIEGO KOSTA and OUR FOLKS bumped at the start.
From wide barriers, HAPPY LIFE and VICTORY MACHINE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 900 Metres, GENEROUS HEART momentarily raced tight inside the heels of POWERMAX.
MR GENUINE, which was racing to the inside of GENEROUS HEART, was awkwardly placed as a consequence.
STARSHIP made the turn after the 600 Metres awkwardly.
Passing the 300 Metres, STARSHIP was shifted to the outside of WAH MAY BABY to obtain clear running.
Approaching the 250 Metres, MR GENUINE and GENEROUS HEART raced tight as MR GENUINE shifted to the outside of POWERMAX after being disappointed for running between that horse and DIEGO KOSTA.
Passing the 200 Metres, K C Ng (WAH MAY BABY) dropped his whip.
After the race, Apprentice K K Chiong (OUR FOLKS) reported that her saddle shifted back significantly approaching and rounding the Home Turn, placing her at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race.
Because of this, Apprentice Chiong dismounted from MY FOLKS shortly after passing the winning post.
STARSHIP lost its right front plate.
Also after the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that an endoscopic examination conducted on DIEGO KOSTA showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.
MR GENUINE and POWERMAX were sent for sampling.

Mr Genuine wore down post-time favourite Powermax 20m out following a prominent run for a third win from 24 starts. The downgrade and return to the Valley 1,200m was the key to victory. He should remain competitive up in grade off a lightweight if he sticks to this Valley trip. Powermax wouldn't go down without a fight after clearing to the front from gate 12 in a solid first run in the grade after winning two of five Class Fours. He remains one to follow. Early favourite Generous Heart just got the better of Diego Kosta for a placing after chasing the speed one off the fence. He has been a model of consistency without winning and it's only a matter of time before he salutes. Diego Kosta sat on the fence in second and found a few too smart in the end. He's honest but has little upside off his current mark. Raphael stuck on better following a midfield run. It was an improved effort at only his second start and first over this course but still might need a bit more time to acclimatise. Happy Life made some ground late travelling fourth from the rear.
