Recap by phillip woo
Helene Paragon took off from the rear at the 600m to draw level at the 200m with Able Friend and edged clear close to home for back-to-back Group One wins. He's top flight over the 1,400m to 1,800m. Odds-on favourite Able Friend finished nicely after travelling third from the rear but couldn't match his stablemate in the end. He ran well in defeat but the wear-and-tear of racing appears to be getting to the seven year old. Joyful Trinity came on very well travelling second from the rear to fill a placing. He continues to run crackers over the 1,400m and mile but is just a shade below the best. Blizzard kept on reasonably well after stalking the speed. He's group material but not top class. Contentment had his chance on the lead and wilted in the final 100m. He's beyond his better days and will require rating relief. Sun Jewellery disappointed yet again following a box-seat run.
