Wisky just held on for the win after moving to the front 80m out following a dream run. He's no world beater but should be able to hold his own off a lightweight in a higher grade. Excellence came on strongly despite being held up until the 200m after travelling third from the rear to make it close on the wire. He likely would have won with unimpeded running and is ready to raise the bar higher at this level. Best Tango peaked on his run 100m out after dashing to the front travelling fore of midfield at the 150m but still held on for a placing. He's not reliable but capable of popping up at times. Soul Achiever stayed on all right after landing a one-off spot in midfield from a wide gate. He may be nearing a bottom and is one to keep safe from a better gate. Go Go Win yielded ground over the final 100m to just miss a Quartet spot after clearing to the front leaving the first bend. He requires a claimer's allowance. Golden Achiever was gone 200m out after punching the breeze in second. The step up to a mile didn't suit.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (384)-WAI YIP HANDICAP (Sec2) - Class 4 - 1650Metres

AMAZING ALWAYS began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped WINASWEWISH which became unbalanced.

EXCELLENCE was crowded for room on jumping between WISKY which shifted out marginally and BEST TANGO which was taken in by GO GO WIN.

From the outside barrier, GLORY STAR was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Despite being vigorously ridden along in the early stages, PEARL FURU failed to muster speed.

After briefly obtaining cover passing the winning post on the first occasion, UNBEATABLE GUTS was taken in to a position three wide and without cover when BEST TANGO shifted out away from the heels of WONDERFUL CHASER.

After this, UNBEATABLE GUTS remained wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

Near the 1050 Metres, WINASWEWISH got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of WONDERFUL CHASER.

For some distance after the 300 Metres, WISKY and GOLDEN ACHIEVER raced very tight as WISKY shifted to the outside of GO GO WIN to obtain clear running.

After this, GOLDEN ACHIEVER gave ground.

After the race, Z Purton stated that GOLDEN ACHIEVER did not see out the distance of tonight's race at its first time of asking.

Approaching the 250 Metres, EXCELLENCE was shifted in away from the heels of UNBEATABLE GUTS after being held up for clear running behind that horse.

A veterinary inspection of GOLDEN ACHIEVER and GLORY STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

WISKY and EXCELLENCE were sent for sampling.
