Recap by phillip woo

Beat The Clock rushed forward from the widest gate to lead 1,200m out at his own pace and kept on nicely to easily win his debut. He's full of promise and remains one to follow. Hastily Feet closed off well after being held up early straight to finish a clear second following a midfield run. He can breakthrough at any time off his current mark. Terrific Master ran home nicely near the inside after travelling fourth from the rear despite an unfavourable pace to fill a placing for his new trainer. He's always a chance at this level and prefers the mile distance. Hit A Home Run ran on without menacing from beyond midfield. He was beaten the race tempo. Lightly-raced Dashing Dart produced a better run first-up sporting first-time blinkers despite covering ground without cover the entire trip from a wide gate. Things may be following into place now.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (163)-CANMAKE TOKYO HANDICAP (Sec1) - Class 4 - 1400Metres

CLEVER SPIRIT lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected, began awkwardly and bumped DIAMOND BIT which shifted out.

After this, both DIAMOND BIT and CLEVER SPIRIT were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Shortly after entering the Straight, HASTILY FEET was shifted out away from the heels of GOLDEN GLORY.

HIT A HOME RUN had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.

Near the 150 Metres, DASHING DART was awkwardly placed inside the heels of FOREVER POSH which lay in under pressure.

After this, FOREVER POSH continued to lay in under pressure.

Passing the 100 Metres, HIT A HOME RUN again had difficulty obtaining clear running.

When questioned, L Corrales stated that he had been instructed to try and lead on GOOD METHOD if possible.

He said however that the horse lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and consequently lost ground.

He said he had to ride GOOD METHOD along in the early stages to obtain as forward a position as possible.

He said after the 1200 Metres he was able to shift in to race one horse off the rail following RED HORSE and passing the 1100 Metres RED HORSE got its head up on a number of occasions.

He said when he steadied GOOD METHOD away from the heels of RED HORSE, GOOD METHOD immediately commenced to hang out and he was unable to prevent the horse from shifting out passing the 1000 Metres into a tight three wide position.

He said as he was attempting to shift GOOD METHOD back in behind RED HORSE, FOREVER POSH improved its position quickly to be racing inside GOOD METHOD and therefore he was not able to shift GOOD METHOD in as he would have had caused interference to FOREVER POSH.

He added near the 750 Metres GOOD METHOD was crowded for room between DASHING DART and FOREVER POSH which commenced to prove difficult to settle and shifted out away from the heels of RED HORSE.

He said these factors resulted in GOOD METHOD having to race three wide for the majority of the race and further back in the field than had been intended.

A veterinary inspection of GOOD METHOD immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.

A veterinary inspection of DIAMOND BIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

BEAT THE CLOCK and HASTILY FEET were sent for sampling.
