Recap by phillip woo
Odds-on favourite Helene Paragon bided his time at the tail of the field, swung the final bend widest out and quickened well to win going away 200m out for a third win from seven outings in track-record time. He's got a bright future. Specked late, Flame Hero stayed on nicely along the inside following a box-seat run to grab second 120m out. Secret Weapon ran on with one wider out after travelling second from the rear to grab a placing in deep stretch. Gun Pit jumped well to eventually land a spot one off in second, moved to the front 280m out and was giving ground 100m out. Romantic Touch was gifted an uncontested lead, straight two lengths on top and was gassed 150m out. Top Act never fired after travelling third from the rear. Helene Happy Star disappointed when asked for an effort in the drive following a prominent run with cover.
