Back In Black was able to land a nice spot behind midfield along the fence from a wide gate, improved to midfield and one off the fence rounding the final bend, was all dressed up with nowhere to go until getting a split between runners 130m out and quickened nicely thereafter to get up 30m out for a fifth win from 10 outings. Forever Red travelled one off the fence worse than midfield, swung the final bend with one wider out and finished willingly to make it interesting on the wire. Timely Arrived was ridden to lead from gate five, was briefly headed by Multimax 550m out, reclaimed the front 200m out and was swamped in the shadows of the post. Multimax pressed forward out deep to park outside the leader 800m out, pressed to the front 550m out and grudgingly gave way over the final 150m. Fantastico stayed on all right five deep upon straightening following a rails run in midfield. Specked late, Wild Boy wasn't properly tested over the final 200m following a prominent run along the fence. Punted late, newcomer Golden Achiever made some ground widest out after travelling third from the rear. All Win Boy ran on without menacing after straightening four deep following a patient ride second from the rear. Roundabout never lifted following a one-off run outside Fantastico.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (637)-ARC DE TRIOMPHE CHAMPIONS HANDICAP (Sec1) - Class 3 - 1200Metres

From the outside barriers, BACK IN BLACK, GOLDEN ACHIEVER and HONG KONG CAPTAIN were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Near the 1150 Metres, ROUNDABOUT was steadied when crowded for room inside WILD BOY which got its head on the side and shifted in away from TIMELY ARRIVED which shifted in marginally before being corrected by its rider.

As the Stewards were satisfied that there was no carelessness exhibited by any rider in this incident, no further action was taken.

Passing the 900 Metres, BACK IN BLACK momentarily raced in restricted room inside FOREVER RED which got its head on the side and lay in towards the heels of ROUNDABOUT.

After the 800 Metres, SUPREME FALCON was left racing wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

Passing the 600 Metres, ALL WIN BOY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of BACK IN BLACK.

Passing the 300 Metres, TIMELY ARRIVED raced tight inside MULTIMAX which lay in.

Near the 150 Metres, ALL GREAT FRIENDS was brushed by BACK IN BLACK which improved into tight running between that horse and MULTIMAX.

WILD BOY was not able to obtain clear running at any stage in the Straight and consequently was not able to be properly tested.

A veterinary inspection of SUPREME FALCON immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left front leg.

Before being allowed to race again, SUPREME FALCON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of ALL WIN BOY and ROUNDABOUT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

BACK IN BLACK and FOREVER RED were sent for sampling.

7 May 2016 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 10 (629) When questioned regarding the performance of RUBY COAST, C Y Ho stated that the horse settled slightly behind midfield which is consistent with its normal racing pattern.

He said RUBY COAST travelled satisfactorily during the early and middle stages, however, when placed under full pressure in the Straight did not respond to his riding and was disappointing.

He added that over the concluding stages RUBY COAST was inclined to lay in and was short in its action and he reported this to connections immediately after the race.

Before being allowed to race again, RUBY COAST will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Addition to Racing Incidents Report from 7 May 2016 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 9 (628) At the 250 Metres, O Bosson (SPICY SURE) had his whip knocked from his grasp by the whip of N Callan (AVELLINO).

Racing Laboratory tests of BEAR CHUM, LOOK ERAS, KING BOUNTIFUL, MALAYAN PEARL, AH BO, ROYALE ELEGANCE, SUPER MAN, GENERAL SHERMAN, SUPREME PROFIT, HAPPY ROCKY, BULB MASTER, HOME RUN, MULTIEXPRESS, CAREFREE LET GO, CHAUTAUQUA, LUCKY BUBBLES, MAURICE, CONTENTMENT, HELENE PARAGON, RIGHTEOUS, JOYFUL MOMENTS, WAH MAY FRIEND, HO IN ONE, MOMENTUM LUCKY, MALMSTEEN and GREEN CARD (1.5.16) proved negative.
