Racing Incident Report
Race One: (320)-BOWRINGTON HANDICAP - Class 5 - 2200Metres
SMART GUY was crowded for room on jumping between SPICY SIAM and PERCY JACKSON which shifted out.GOLDEN OSMANTHUS shifted in at the start and bumped STRIKE EAGLE.
KING BOUNTIFUL was slow to begin.
Approaching the 900 Metres, GLORIOUS VICTORY and STRIKE EAGLE raced tight.
For some distance approaching and passing the 500 Metres, GLORIOUS VICTORY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GOLDEN OSMANTHUS.
Near the 250 Metres, GLORIOUS VICTORY raced tight inside STRIKE EAGLE which shifted in under pressure.
Near the 200 Metres, ISLAND FLYER was shifted out away from the heels of JUST PLEASANT.
Passing the 150 Metres, ISLAND FLYER was struck over the nose by the whip of Y T Cheng (JUST PLEASANT).
Approaching the 100 Metres, JUST PLEASANT was bumped by ISLAND FLYER which shifted in.
Shortly after this, ISLAND FLYER was directed out to relieve the tightening to JUST PLEASANT and bumped GLAMOROUS RYDER which became unbalanced, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of GLORIOUS VICTORY which was shifting in in an attempt to obtain clear running inside STRIKE EAGLE.
In this incident, GLAMOROUS RYDER lost ground when crowded and GLORIOUS VICTORY became badly unbalanced.
Over the concluding stages, GLORIOUS VICTORY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of STRIKE EAGLE.
A veterinary inspection of KING BOUNTIFUL and WIN CHANCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GLAMOROUS RYDER, SPICY SIAM and STRIKE EAGLE were sent for sampling.

Spicy Siam settled one off the fence worse than midfield, swung the final bend with two wider out and finished nicely to get up 80m out for an upset win with a return to blinkers. Strike Eagle settled one off in fifth with cover, swept to the front four deep at the 100m and found one too good in the end. Island Flyer closed off nicely one off the fence following a rail's run in midfield to grab a placing. Glorious Victory was prominently ridden along the fence and kept on all right near five deep despite bumping with the tiring Glamorous Ryder close to home to fill a Quartet spot. Percy Jackson made a steady bid six deep without threatening after travelling behind midfield along the rail. He was likely anchored by the weight despite a drop in grade. Sweet Bean ran on without menacing after travelling third from the rear. Favourite Glamorous Ryder parked outside the leader Just Pleasant, got within a length of the leader at the 250m and was stopping 100m out. Smart Guy made only a mild bid from the rear of the field. Punted late, Just Pleasant was swallowed up 150m out after setting a moderate pace on the lead. King Bountiful wasn't a factor out wide in the drive after travelling second from the rear after a slow break despite a drop in class and rise in trip.
