Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (240)-ENGLAND HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Metres
Shortly after the start, SOLAR HEI HEI was crowded for room between RAINBOW GOLD and LUCKY DAY which shifted out.DASHING KING, which was racing outside RAINBOW GOLD, was steadied away from that horse in consequence.
TURF SPRINT and PEACE N PROSPERITY bumped shortly after the start.
From the outside barriers, HEARTS KEEPER and FLYING ELITE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 850 Metres, SOLAR HEI HEI got its head on the side and lay in.
Throughout the race, LUCKY YEAR travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of PEACE N PROSPERITY and SOLAR HEI HEI immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of LUCKY DAY immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea.
SOLAR HEI HEI, LUCKY YEAR and POPPING CANDY were sent for sampling.

Early favourite Lucky Year was posted deep without cover in a handy spot from a wide gate, rounded the final bend near five deep and finished well to grab victory 20m out in his first run at the Valley. Popping Candy worked to the lead 1,000m, cornered near two lengths on top and grudgingly gave way. Highland Hammer settled one off the fence in fourth, rallied five deep and ran on reasonably well to finish a clear-cut third in his initial run at the Valley. Turf Sprint rallied well with two wider out after travelling one off the fence behind midfield to spice up the Quartet in a vastly-improved run with a drop in grade. Dashing King made some ground without menacing after travelling fourth from the rear. It was a better run at only his second start in Hong Kong. Post-time favourite Solar Hei Hei failed to find another gear with two wider out following a one-off run with cover in midfield in his first start over the Valley track. Happy Meteor had his chance following a box-seat run and was giving ground 150m out. Lucky Day didn't respond following a rail's run in midfield. Peace N Prosperity weakened 200m out after stalking the leader one off the fence carrying top weight.
