House Of Luck was sent forward with a gear chance to lead for the first time in his life along the rails at the 1,000m with favourite Choice Exchequer 1,000m out posted to his outside, cornered two lengths on top and drew clear for an easy win. Brilliant Monkeys ran on with three wider out after travelling one off with cover in midfield to grab a Quinella spot. Thumped late in betting, Holy Star ran on nicely two from the right after travelling third from the rear to secure a placing in a much-improved run for his new trainer. He might be getting away with a race shortly in this grade. Hong Kong Fat stayed to the inside upon straightening after travelling behind midfield and finished well to grab a Quartet spot. Joy Together was niggled along to hold a position one off in third, cornered three deep and only held his ground when asked for a response. Choice Exchequer was posted when failing to clear for the lead from a wide gate and weakened 100m out. To-Kalon cast his rider in the gate and was withdrawn.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (065)-XIAN HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Metres

After being loaded, TO-KALON became very fractious and reared, resulting in its rider, M Chadwick, sustaining an injury to his right leg.

As a consequence of the indisposition of M Chadwick, the Stewards ruled that TO-KALON be withdrawn.

M Chadwick was subsequently stood down by the Club's medical officers when unfit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements.

Before being allowed to race again, TO-KALON will be required to perform satisfactorily in a series of barrier trials.

On jumping, HOLY STAR and BRILLIANT MONKEYS were crowded for room between CHOICE EXCHEQUER and CASA JUNIOR which began awkwardly and shifted out.

From the outside barrier, BE THERE AHEAD was shifted across behind runners soon after the start.

In the middle stages, JOY TOGETHER got its head up when racing keenly.

FISHKING THUNDER lost ground abruptly rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight and near the 200 Metres was eased down by its rider, C Schofield, who dismounted FISHKING THUNDER prior to it collapsing.

A veterinary inspection of CHOICE EXCHEQUER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

CHOICE EXCHEQUER, HOUSE OF LUCK and BRILLIANT MONKEYS were sent for sampling.
