Recap by phillip woo
Grand Harbour was pestered in the lead by Beauty King, cornered a length on top and kept on gamely for the win. Best Tango settled third from the rear, circled the field with a move five deep at the 450m, swung the final bend with two wider out and finished well to grab second at the 80m mark. Beauty King was ridden to sit second in the run and one off the rails after copping a bump soon after the break, straightened three deep and grudgingly gave way over the last 100m. Late-fancied favourite Hit A Home Run settled fourth from the rear along the rails, stayed near the inside upon straightening and got up late for a Quartet spot. Flying Chaparral settled effectively one out, one back, cornered four deep and kept plugging away to just miss fourth. Mi Savvy Boy eventually settled into a box-seat run passing the 1,000m, straightened near three deep and kept on reasonably well despite being short of room late in an improved performance. Agiaal settled last from a wide gate and made some late ground five deep. Drifting in betting as the early favourite, Noble Deluxe never ran on six deep in the drive following a one-off run behind midfield. Flying Elite was taken back from a wide gate to settle second from the rear, made his move at the 450m and peaked on his run furthest out in the drive at the 150m.
