Favourite Rouge Et Blanc sat behind the leader Grassland Dragon, advanced to the front 400m out and kept up a strong gallop for a second win from eight starts. Cruise Control travelled behind midfield one off the rails, got going at the 600m and ran on nicely with three wider out to grab second 100m out. Oxford Charley bided his time fourth from the rear along the fence, shifted into the clear with three wider out at the 300m and closed off well to grab Win Along in the final 10m for third. Win Along travelled one off the fence in fifth, made his move 650m out to lead at the 500m, cornered narrowly on top and kept on reasonably well when headed. Last-start winner Navel Orange failed to lift after making his run on the back of the eventual winner. Speedy Wally only held his ground after straightening five deep following a rail's run in midfield. Ambassadorship never ran on after making his run at the rear. He's not a claimer's ride. Grassland Dragon didn't see out the trip despite getting away with slow fractions for the opening 1,200m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (599)-THE MACWHINNIE CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 2000Metres

AMBASSADORSHIP began awkwardly and lost ground.

SPEEDY WALLY and OCEAN POWER began awkwardly.

From the outside barriers, GOOD FIT and TELEPHATIA were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Despite being ridden along in the early stages, CRUISE CONTROL failed to muster speed.

Approaching the 1500 Metres, TELEPHATIA was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GOOD FIT.

For some distance approaching the 600 Metres, SPEEDY WALLY, which was inclined to lay in, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of NAVEL ORANGE.

SPEEDY WALLY then shifted out abruptly when being checked away from the heels of NAVEL ORANGE passing the 600 Metres and made contact with the hindquarters of PERCY JACKSON which became badly unbalanced.

GOOD FIT, which was following, was hampered in consequence.

OXFORD CHARLEY was held up behind the tiring GRASSLAND DRAGON rounding the Home Turn.

Approaching and passing the 300 Metres, OCEAN POWER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of WIN ALONG (H W Lai) which shifted in.

H W Lai was advised to exercise more care.

Over the concluding stages, AMBASSADORSHIP raced in restricted room between PERCY JACKSON and TELEPHATIA.

Throughout the race, GRASSLAND DRAGON raced with its head on the side and lay out.

Also throughout the race, PERCY JACKSON travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of GOOD FIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of TELEPHATIA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, only a partial endoscopic examination was able to be performed.

ROUGE ET BLANC and CRUISE CONTROL were sent for sampling.
