Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (575)-NORFOLK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 2200Metres
From wide barriers, ALWAYS SOMETHING and KITAYA were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.Near the 550 Metres, LOVING STAR momentarily raced tight inside CRUISE CONTROL which got its head on the side and shifted in towards the heels of MAZANDARAN.
After the race, B Prebble (BACKBENCH BLUES) stated that his mount became unbalanced behind passing the 500 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of MAZANDARAN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
CRUISE CONTROL, TELEPHATIA and BACKBENCH BLUES were sent for sampling.

Telephatia settled fourth from the rear along the rails, pushed into the open with one wider upon straightening close to the stands side and finished willingly to get up in the shadows of the post to remain unbeaten in two outings over this trip this season. Backbench Blues settled midfield and one off the rails, swung the final bend with two wider out and closed off strongly to make it a blanket finish. Loving Star was handy along the rails, peeled six deep upon straightening and ran on nicely to make it a thriller on the wire. Spirit Soaring went forward from a wide gate to sit outside the leader Fresh And Fresh, rushed to the front approaching the final bend and was swamped in the final few metres for a placing. Favourite Cruise Control enjoyed a beautiful run one off with cover in fourth, moved to second five deep at the 200m and was collared late for a placing. Kitaya was taken widest upon straightening after travelling third from the rear and ran on reasonably well to just miss a placing. Percy Jackson made some ground from behind midfield without menacing. Mazandaran had no excuses after a box-seat run.
