Early favourite Grace Heart easily led from gate six, cornered a length on top from Spurs On and kept up a strong gallop to register a second win from five outings following a nice break. King Of Household settled three back along the rails, stayed to the inside upon straightening and wore down Chin Chun in the final bound for second. Late-fancied favourite Chin Chun enjoyed the box-seat run, straightened three deep and could only hold his ground when popped the question. Golden Bauhinia settled one out, one back, rounded the final bend five deep and kept on one-paced over the final 150m with every chance. Spurs On rolled forward out deep to eventually sit one off in second from a wide gate, cornered four deep and came up flat over the last 100m. Timely Arrived settled three back and one off the rails, rounded the final bend with two wider out and never did run on. Happy Homing made only a mild bid near the inside from behind midfield.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (573)-HEREFORD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Metres

PROPEL REPEL was slow to begin.

EXCEEDINGLY EXCEL began awkwardly and lost ground.

From the outside barrier, PALEPALE was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

For some distance after the 800 Metres, TIMELY ARRIVED travelled keenly when being steadied to obtain cover.

After the 700 Metres, SUNSHINE KID was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GOLDEN CHOICE.

Making the turn near the 600 Metres, GOLDEN CHOICE (K Teetan) got its head on the side and lay out.

EXCEEDINGLY EXCEL, which had been following GOLDEN CHOICE, then improved quickly inside the heels of GOLDEN CHOICE which near the 500 Metres shifted back in, resulting in EXCEEDINGLY EXCEL being crowded for room and losing ground.

K Teetan was reprimanded and advised that whilst there were some circumstances to this incident, nonetheless he must ensure that he is sufficiently clear of other runners when shifting ground.

In the early part of the Straight, KING OF HOUSEHOLD got its head on the side and lay in.

After the race, O Doleuze expressed concern regarding the action of SUNSHINE KID.

A veterinary inspection of SUNSHINE KID immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, SUNSHINE KID will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

CHIN CHUN, GRACE HEART and KING OF HOUSEHOLD were sent for sampling.
