Recap by phillip woo
Short-priced favourite Able Friend travelled one off in midfield, advanced to the front four deep at the 150m and edged clear to win with something in hand. Beauty Flame enjoyed an uncontested lead, cornered a length on top and just held off Rewarding Hero for second. Rewarding Hero was ridden cold and got going nicely with one wider out to make it interesting for the minors. It was another big run in defeat. Dan Excel was one-paced over the final 100m following a box-seat run. Real Specialist only held his ground following a rail's run underneath Able Friend. Glorious Days never let down after travelling third from the back with late-market support. Secret Sham was going 150m out with every chance after stalking a moderate pace. Rainbow Chic never factored after travelling second from the rear.
