Race Six: (519)-PEEL HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Metres
From the outside barrier, MAC ROW was steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.In the early stages, JOYFUL MOMENTS got its head up when being steadied from a wide barrier to obtain a position closer to the rail.
Passing the 1400 Metres, NATURAL FRIENDSHIP was steadied away from the heels of BEAUTY AHEAD (A Suborics) which shifted in when not properly clear.
A Suborics was advised to exercise more care.
For some distance after the 1100 Metres, MAC ROW got its head up when proving difficult to settle and awkwardly placed close to the heels of GRAND CHAMPION.
At the 400 Metres, PENNY LANE and ROBUST MOMENTUM bumped.
Passing the 400 Metres, HEROIC GURU lay out and inconvenienced ATHENA BABY.
Throughout the race, GIGGLES FOREVER travelled wide and without cover.
HEROIC GURU, ATHENA BABY and JOYFUL MOMENTS were sent for sampling.

Early favourite Athena Baby settled behind midfield and one off the rails, rounded the final bend with two wider out and quickened nicely to take control 150m out for back-to-back wins despite a rise in trip. Joyful Moments made his run fourth from the rear, had only one further out upon straightening and finished nicely to grab second 50m out. He's ready to win. Post-time favourite Heroic Guru settled one off in midfield, straightened five deep and ran on steadily for a placing. Robust Momentum punched the breeze in second behind the leader Penny Lane, claimed the front 350m out and grudgingly gave way over the last 100m. Penny Lane cornered near two lengths clear and was yielding ground 150m out with a tonne of money for him late. Grand Champion made some ground near the outside after making his run third from the rear. Super Silks was handy in the run with cover and only plodded when popped the question. Giggles Forever travelled without cover the entire trip and had nothing left.
