Favourite Gun Pit remained unbeaten in five outings over this surface and trip when coming with one wider out from behind midfield to grab Sichuan Vigour in the shadows of the post. Sichuan Vigour settled ahead of midfield and one off the rails after dipping at the start, worked to the front four deep at the 50m and kept on gamely off a light weight. Pablosky cleared to lead at the 1,350m from an outside gate, built a two-length margin at the 300m and found a couple too smart in the end with a step up to a mile. Vanilla was ridden for luck at the back of the field, swung the final bend with one wider out and was turning on the jets late to get up for a Quartet spot. He needs the 1,800m or further. Eagle Power enjoyed the box-seat run, stayed to the inside upon straightening and kept on all right despite being tight for room over the final 100m. Majestic Anthem was disappointing when dropping off at the 200m after stalking the speed. Hypersonic settled midfield after recovering from a slow break, then was held up four deep until switching into the clear 200m out and came up flat thereafter.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (491)-DIAMOND HILL HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1650Metres

EAGLE POWER shifted out at the start, resulting in VANILLA being crowded for room inside MAJESTIC ANTHEM.

HYPERSONIC stumbled at the start and then was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, HYPERSONIC momentarily raced in restricted room between FREE JUDGEMENT and VANILLA, both of which shifted marginally.

Near the 1300 Metres, MAJESTIC ANTHEM was steadied away from the heels of PABLOSKY (J Moreira) which shifted in when not quite clear.

J Moreira was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.

Passing the 1300 Metres, SICHUAN VIGOUR commenced to prove difficult to settle and shifted out away from the heels of RACING HERO when awkwardly placed behind that horse.

HYPERSONIC was unable to obtain clear running until passing the 200 Metres.

Passing the 100 Metres, FREE JUDGEMENT was steadied when crowded for room between VANILLA which shifted in under pressure and HYPERSONIC which got its head on the side and lay out.

Over the final 50 Metres, EAGLE POWER was awkwardly placed inside the heels of PABLOSKY and as a consequence was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race.

A veterinary inspection of HYPERSONIC immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GUN PIT and SICHUAN VIGOUR were sent for sampling.
