Racing Incident Report
Race One: (487)-WANG TAU HOM HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Metres
GRACYTOM was withdrawn on 23.3.15 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore fetlock) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter P J HALL.Before being allowed to race again, GRACYTOM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
FIRE STARTER began awkwardly and shortly after the start was shifted across behind runners.
Shortly after the start, P J HALL was awkwardly placed outside the heels of EASY AHEAD which shifted out.
Then near the 1150 Metres, P J HALL shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of EASY AHEAD.
Near the 1000 Metres, LUCKY PIONEER was bumped by NOVEL START which shifted in away from the heels of TRILLION TREASURE.
Rounding the Home Turn, EASY AHEAD was held up behind LUCKY PIONEER.
Passing the 300 Metres, DIAMOND ANGEL was steadied when crowded for room between SEA FURY and FIRE STARTER which shifted in marginally.
Throughout the race, ENJOY THE FUN travelled wide and without cover.
Also for the majority of the race, FIRE STARTER travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned, Z Purton stated that COSTA DEL SOL did not travel at any stage of the race.
He said it had been intended for the horse to be ridden in a handy position if possible, however, COSTA DEL SOL did not show sufficient speed in the early stages to be able to take up a forward position as intended.
A veterinary inspection of COSTA DEL SOL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ORIENTAL FANTASIA, TRILLION TREASURE and EASY AHEAD were sent for sampling.

Trillion Treasure jumped well to settle one off in second behind Oriental Fantasia, advanced to the front 250m out and kept on gamely for a third win in a very good time with a switch in surface. Old-timer Easy Ahead was ridden along to hold a position behind midfield along the fence, rallied four deep upon straightening and ran down Oriental Fantasia 50m out for second. Oriental Fantasia led through slick fractions, cornered nearly two lengths on top and grudgingly gave way late as the late-fancied favourite. Novel Start landed a spot one off in fifth, cornered three deep and plugged on evenly when popped the question. Enjoy The Fun came up one-paced over the last 150m after covering ground near the speed from a wide gate. P J Hall made some ground from near the back after missing the kick without ever looking a chance. Diamond Angel travel deep with cover fore of midfield and failed to let down with one wider out upon straightening. Sea Fury failed to run on after cornering with two wider out. Punted late, Fire Starter never got closer than four deep without cover behind midfield from a wide gate and was a non-factor despite a drop in class. Early favourite Costa Del Sol never raised a stir from near the back and was struggling 600m out.
