Recap by phillip woo

Fancied late in betting, Savvy Nature was given a lovely trip in the box-seat position, peeled three deep upon straightening and wore down the leader Twin Delight in the shadows of the post for the win with a switch to the Valley. Twin Delight was well rated on the lead, cornered two lengths on top and was tippy-toeing late with a step up in distance. Good Choice bided his time third from the rear and one off the rails, stayed near the inside upon straightening and had to steady close to home when making good progress over the final 150m carrying a light weight with a step up in class. Noble Deluxe ran on steadily five deep after a handy run along the rails to fill a Quartet spot. Jolly Victor travelled midfield and one off the rails, made his move 500m out and came up flat with two wider out in the final 100m. Vanilla made a mild bid following a rail's run worse than midfield. Sunny Ying was gone 200m out after parking outside the lead. Wayfoong Express settled at the rear, improved his position without cover when given reminders at the 800m and was struggling soon after straightening.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (474)-THE INDIAN RECREATION CLUB CHALLENGE CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 2 - 1800Metres

ENTHUSIASM was withdrawn on 17.3.15 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (inflamed right fore fetlock) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter ASHKIYR (D Whyte).

Before being allowed to race again, ENTHUSIASM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

GOOD CHOICE was slow to begin.

From wide barriers, LUCKY OMENS and AMAZINGLY were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Despite being ridden along in the early stages, WAYFOONG EXPRESS failed to muster speed.

After the 1700 Metres, SUNNY YING was directed out across the heels of TWIN DELIGHT (Z Purton) which shifted in when not properly clear.

Z Purton was advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

LUCKY OMENS became unbalanced passing the winning post on the first occasion.

Approaching the 1300 Metres, SUNNY YING was inconvenienced when taken wider by TWIN DELIGHT which shifted out.

AMAZINGLY travelled keenly in the middle stages and passing the 500 Metres was awkwardly placed close to the heels of LUCKY OMENS.

GOOD CHOICE was held up for clear running rounding the Home Turn.

Over the concluding stages, GOOD CHOICE, which was finishing off the race strongly, was steadied away from the heels of SAVVY NATURE which shifted in under pressure.

Consequently, GOOD CHOICE was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race.

Close to the finishing line, SAVVY NATURE and TWIN DELIGHT raced tight.

After the race, B Prebble stated that WAYFOONG EXPRESS did not travel comfortably at any stage of the race.

A veterinary inspection of WAYFOONG EXPRESS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of SUNNY YING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SAVVY NATURE and TWIN DELIGHT were sent for sampling.
