Sing Sing Sing settled third along the rails, advanced to the front 200m out and just held off the late surge of Golden Bauhinia in a deceptive photo for a whisker success at only his second start. Golden Bauhinia settled one off in midfield, rounded the final bend six deep and finished off well to make it very tight on the wire. Gideon settled fourth from the rear and three deep from a wide gate, swung the final bend with one wider out and completed the run willingly to finish just behind the top pair. Plunged late, Ambitious Glory settled behind midfield and three deep with cover, swung the final bend with two wider out and closed off nicely to just miss a placing. Multiexpress travelled worse than midfield near the inside, shifted off the rails five deep at the 150m and stayed on all right in an improved run with a drop in grade. Touch Go was tight for room along the rail's upon straightening following a ground-saving trip in midfield, had clear running 200m out but came up flat in the final 100m. Favourite Giddy Giddy worked forward to lead narrowly without cover, cleared to the front passing the 500m, cornered two lengths on top and was stopping 150m out. Art Of Success was sharing the lead, got hampered by Giddy Giddy 500m out and had no more to offer 200m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (413)-WAN CHAI GAP HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Metres

At declaration time, C Y Ho was declared as the rider of both GETAWAY GUY and GOLDEN BAUHINIA.

It was established that C Y Ho had a firm commitment to ride GOLDEN BAUHINIA.

As such, the Stewards permitted K C Leung to be substituted as the rider of GETAWAY GUY.

For this declaration error, Trainer T K Ng was fined $2,000.

Shortly after the start, AMBITIOUS GLORY got its head on the side, shifted out and bumped LUCKY BALL.

Then, despite being ridden along in the early stages, AMBITIOUS GLORY failed to muster speed.

From a wide barrier, GIDEON was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Making the first turn near the 600 Metres, ART OF SUCCESS got its head on the side and commenced to hang out.

ART OF SUCCESS continued to hang out and near the 500 Metres was severely checked after shifting out across the heels of GIDDY GIDDY, resulting in SING SING SING and HIGHLAND DRAGON, which were following, being inconvenienced.

Then near the 400 Metres, ART OF SUCCESS was again checked after shifting out towards the heels of HIGHLAND DRAGON.

ART OF SUCCESS was then eased down in the latter stages of the race.

A veterinary inspection of ART OF SUCCESS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being permitted to race again, ART OF SUCCESS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a series of consecutive official barrier trials around a bend.

Also making the first turn near the 600 Metres, LUCKY BALL, which was having its first race start, got its head on the side and hung out and near the 450 Metres was momentarily steadied away from the heels of GIDEON which shifted out when awkwardly placed outside the heels of AMBITIOUS GLORY.

Near the 250 Metres, TOUCH GO raced in restricted room inside GIDDY GIDDY.

Then after the 200 Metres, TOUCH GO again raced tight inside GIDDY GIDDY which got its head on the side and shifted in away from SING SING SING.

A veterinary inspection of GIDDY GIDDY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GIDDY GIDDY, SING SING SING and GOLDEN BAUHINIA were sent for sampling.
