Recap by phillip woo

Firming late, Harbour Master travelled sweetly fore of midfield and one off the rails, swung the final bend with one wider out and let down willingly to win going away at the 100m with a return to the turf. Chater Dream worked hard from a wide gate to settle one off in second behind the leader Approve, cornered three deep and got up 60m out to add some spice to the Quinella. Winning Leader made it close for second after travelling one off in fifth for a positive result with a drop in grade and return to the Valley. Favourite Gun Pit ran on steadily without menacing widest out after travelling one off the rails behind midfield. Approve set a muddling pace, cornered two lengths on top and grudgingly gave way over the final 100m. Beauty Lead ran on steadily following a rail's run in midfield. Business As Usual yielded ground passing the 200m following a box-seat run. Majestic Anthem was allowed to find his feet third from the back from an outside draw and got going passed beaten gallopers. Travel Brother never did get going after being snagged back from the widest gate in another lacklustre performance despite a switch to the Valley.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (174)-THE JAPAN RACING ASSOCIATION TROPHY(HANDICAP) - Class 2 - 1650Metres

BEAUTY LEAD, which was fractious in the barriers, began only fairly and was then crowded for room between EAGLE POWER and BUSINESS AS USUAL which shifted out.

GUN PIT was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Also from the outside barrier, TRAVEL BROTHER was shifted across behind runners shortly after the start.

In the early part of the Straight, MAJESTIC ANTHEM got its head on the side and hung in.

U Rispoli (WINNING LEADER) was warned against the practice of raising his whip arm above the height of his shoulder.

After the race, K Teetan expressed concern regarding the action of HAPPY ERA.

He said HAPPY ERA was reluctant to stretch out for the majority of the race.

A veterinary inspection of HAPPY ERA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY ERA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

When questioned regarding the performance of TRAVEL BROTHER, B Prebble stated that his mount travelled well until near the 400 Metres at which time the horse appeared to become unbalanced.

He said after this TRAVEL BROTHER came off the bridle and was inclined to hang in.

He said despite being ridden along, TRAVEL BROTHER did not close off the race as anticipated and, in his opinion, was disappointing.
