Baltic Warrior settled one off with cover in midfield, swung the final bend with three wider out and finished willingly to win going away close to home with a gear change to blinkers with money coming for him late. Hit The Bid was posted deep without cover near the speed from a wide gate, pressed to the front at the 600m, cornered two lengths clear and grudgingly gave way late. Power Cool recovered from a slow break to settle behind midfield near the rails, swung the final bend five deep and finished nicely to just edge Optimism for third. Optimism was patiently ridden second from the rear from a tricky gate, pushed widest out coming to the final bend and made solid gains late in a much-improved effort. Fire Starter had every chance one off upon straightening after handing up the front 600m out and was one-paced over the last 100m. Rugby Ambassador was shuffled back to midfield at the 600m, came one off upon straightening and plugged on without menacing as the favourite. Excel Onself kept on evenly after a three deep run with cover fore of midfield from a wide gate. All Friends made some ground with one wider out from near the back without menacing.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (151)-ISLAND HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Metres

POWER COOL and OPTIMISM were slow to begin.

GLORY BOY began awkwardly and shortly after the start was crowded for room between ALL FRIENDS and MANIPULATION which shifted out.

In this incident, ALL FRIENDS became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by GLORY BOY.

FIRE STARTER shifted out at the start and bumped BALTIC WARRIOR.

For some distance after the 900 Metres, EXCEL ONESELF proved difficult to settle and approaching the 600 Metres was left racing wide and without cover.

HIT THE BID travelled wide and without cover until after the 800 Metres at which time the horse was ridden along to assume the lead.

Passing the 500 Metres, BALTIC WARRIOR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MANIPULATION.

In the early part of the Straight, RUGBY AMBASSADOR had some difficulty obtaining a clear run and passing the 200 Metres was steadied and shifted across the heels of FIRE STARTER to obtain clear running.

Also in the early part of the Straight, EXCEL ONESELF raced with its head on the side and lay in.

A veterinary inspection of MANIPULATION and RUGBY AMBASSADOR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

RUGBY AMBASSADOR, BALTIC WARRIOR and HIT THE BID were sent for sampling.
