Recap by phillip woo

Ishvara travelled midfield and one off the rails, responded nicely to hit the front three deep at the 100m and drew clear to win with something in hand. He's got talent to head a lot higher off his current mark. Firming favourite Brilliant Dream was prominent one off the rails, angled off heels five deep at the 400m, hit the front 160m out and found one too smart. Big Four travelled behind midfield and one off the rails, swung the final bend with two wider out and ran on reasonably well to grab a placing. Supreme Flight settled in the box-seat, straightened three deep and kept grinding away to snare a First-4 spot. Sunny Pearl went to the front, cornered a length on top and was giving ground 100m out. Flying Unicorn made his run third from the rear after a sluggish break, swung the final bend with three wider out and was doing some nice work late in his first run after a stable change. He's clearly better over a mile. Addole was taken back to last from the widest gate, straightened five deep and got going late without menacing.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (147)-KATE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Metres

After being loaded into the barriers, LUCKY BONUS became fractious and reared.

LUCKY BONUS was removed from the stalls and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

Before being allowed to race again LUCKY BONUS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.

WIRE TO WIRE was slow to begin.

TOO FAST began only fairly.

LUCKY BONUS began awkwardly and subsequently travelled wide and without cover throughout the race.

From wide barriers, DISCIPLES TWELVE and ADDOLE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Shortly after the start, FLYING UNICORN was checked when crowded for room initially by BIG FOUR which shifted out after being bumped by SUPREME FLIGHT which in turn was taken out by SUNNY PEARL and GRAN BOLIVAR (W M Lai) which initially shifted in and then shifted in further after being bumped on the hindquarters by FLYING UNICORN.

W M Lai was severely reprimanded and advised that he was being given the benefit of the doubt as to whether his actions were fully responsible for the incident, nonetheless in similar circumstances he must make every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground and causing interference to other runners.

Passing the 1100 Metres, WIRE TO WIRE lost its left hind plate.

Passing the 500 Metres, BRILLIANT DREAM was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GRAN BOLIVAR.

Approaching the 300 Metres, GRAN BOLIVAR, which was giving ground, got it head on the side and shifted in, resulting in TOO FAST being inconvenienced.

Approaching the 200 Metres, LUCKY BONUS was bumped by ISHVARA which was taken out by SUPREME FLIGHT.

Passing the 200 Metres, HAPPY SUMMER was shifted out away from the heels of LUCKY BONUS.

The performance of WIRE TO WIRE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, WIRE TO WIRE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

ISHVARA and BRILLIANT DREAM were sent for sampling.
