Recap by phillip woo

Jolly Posh rolled forward from a wide gate to lead at the 850m, cornered two lengths on top and kept up a good gallop for the win. Polymer Win handed up the lead, straightened three deep and plugged on well to just grab second ahead of Mi Savvy, who kept on gamely after a three-deep run without cover up with the leaders from the widest gate. Mi Savvy does not appear far off a win over this Valley trip. Bold Stitch made a steady bid to just miss a placing after a one-off run in a pleasing debut effort. Firming favourite Eroico made his run second from the rear after jumping slow, then was badly held up behind a wall of horses six deep when straightening before finishing nicely with clear running 150m out in an encouraging debut. Jack's Gem was one paced in the final 150m. Friends Of Yan Oi ran on nicely three off the rails from the rear to make it close for the minors. Meridian Treasure had no excuses after a one-out, one-back run despite a return to Class Four. Silver Dragon never menaced widest out after a hard run without cover in midfield. Eastern Promise was held up early after a one-off run in midfield but failed to lift with a clear run passing at the 200m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (124)-HAZEL HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Metres

EROICO, which was fractious in the barriers, began only fairly.

FANTASTICLIFE began awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, BOLD STITCH was crowded for room between EASTERN PROMISE and POLYMER WIN which shifted out.

FRIENDS OF YAN OI and POWER COOL were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

At the entrance to the Straight, MERIDIAN TREASURE, which was laying in, was awkwardly placed outside the heels of POLYMER WIN which shifted out slightly.

For some distance shortly after entering the Straight until near the 200 Metres, EASTERN PROMISE was held up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of MERIDIAN TREASURE.

Then passing the 200 Metres, EASTERN PROMISE shifted out and bumped EROICO.

At the 100 Metres, POWER COOL and EROICO became unbalanced due to EROICO getting its head on the side and shifting out after being held up for clear running behind MI SAVVY.

Near the 50 Metres, BOLD STITCH shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of JACK'S GEM.

Over the concluding stages, MERIDIAN TREASURE was awkwardly placed outside the heels of POLYMER WIN after shifting in away from MI SAVVY.

Because of this, MERIDIAN TREASURE was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race.

Throughout the race, MI SAVVY travelled wide and without cover.

EROICO, JOLLY POSH and POLYMER WIN were sent for sampling.
