Recap by phillip woo

Helen's Choice jumped much better than prior runs under Joao Moreira to settle fourth along the rails, pulled out passing the 300m and quickened nicely to win going away at the 100m for a first win at his 14th start with a step up to the Valley mile. Golden Osmanthus took the sit in second after jumping alertly, advanced to the lead 250m out and found one too smart in the end with a return to Class Five. He'll soon be winning a race at this level. Plunged late, Goldweaver settled well in midfield instead of showing his usual pace up front, angled six deep at the 250m and finished nicely to grab a placing with a step up in distance. High Speed Metro settled at the tail of the field, stayed near the inside upon straightening and ran on willingly to inject value into the First-4. Rising Power settled fourth from the rear and made some ground without menacing. Floral Man pulled out six deep upon straightening following a midfield run with cover one off and only held his ground in a disappointing first even run at the Valley. Casa Junior settled fourth and one off the rails and came up flat under the pump 200m out . Fortune Bravo found no more passing the 200m after dictating a steady pace. Winning Advantage had a torrid run in midfield and will sleep well.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (093)-TOPAZ HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Metres

After beginning awkwardly, GOLDWEAVER was ridden along in the early stages, however, shortly after the start was steadied when crowded for room between CASA JUNIOR which shifted out and LITTLE RAINFOREST which, after shifting in slightly, then shifted in further after being bumped on the hindquarters by GOLDWEAVER and becoming unbalanced.

HELEN'S CHOICE lost its left front plate on jumping.

From wide barriers, HIGH SPEED METRO and RISING POWER were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, RISING POWER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GOLDWEAVER which was taken in by LITTLE RAINFOREST.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, FLORAL MAN was steadied away from the heels of CASA JUNIOR.

After the 1300 Metres, WINNING ADVANTAGE was left racing wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that WINNING ADVANTAGE had bled from both nostrils.

Approaching the 1200 Metres, KING ON EARTH was checked away from the heels of LITTLE RAINFOREST which was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FLORAL MAN.

After the 1100 Metres, GOLDWEAVER got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HELEN'S CHOICE.

Approaching and passing the 200 Metres, HIGH SPEED METRO was reluctant to shift to the outside of FORTUNE BRAVO.

After the 200 Metres, GOLDWEAVER got its head on the side and shifted in under pressure.

A veterinary inspection of FLORAL MAN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

HELEN'S CHOICE and GOLDEN OSMANTHUS were sent for sampling.
