Highly-touted import and favourite Divine Calling travelled a prominent fourth along the rails, eased out three deep rounding the final bend, cruised to the front 150m out without being popped the question and drew clear for a very impressive debut win. He's destined for the top grade. Beauty Flame was no match for the winner but gave a good sight on the speed to come out a clear second. Dundonnell was handy in the run outside Divine Calling, cornered four deep and kept plugging away to grab a placing 150m out. Enthusiasm settled three deep with cover fourth from the rear, angled into the clear with two wider out at the 300m and motored home to inject value into the Quartet. Happy Era made his run second from the rear, forced widest out at the 350m and finished up full of run. Mizani ran on steadily following a midfield run and was overhauled late for a Quartet spot. Santa Fe Sun got going from the rear when the race was all but over. All You Wish made his run third from the rear and one off the rails after a sluggish break and was never a factor. Trump had every chance with cover on the back of the leader and couldn't keep up the gallop 200m out. Thumped late in betting, My Little Friend sat near the speed without cover and was struggling coming to the final bend with a step up in distance.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (084)-CAFETERIA HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Metres

FORMULA WON was withdrawn on 9.10.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (urticaria) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter HAPPY ERA.

Before being allowed to race again, FORMULA WON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

MIZANI began only fairly.

Shortly after the start, DEEP THINKER was crowded for room between TRUMP and IT HAS TO BE YOU, both of which shifted ground.

Also shortly after the start, ALL YOU WISH was shifted across behind runners.

From wide barriers, HAPPY ERA and SANTA FE SUN were taken across behind runners in the early stages.

For some distance passing the 1200 Metres, HO IN ONE proved very difficult to settle and approaching the 1100 Metres shifted out away from the heels of MY LITTLE FRIEND.

After this, HO IN ONE raced wide and without cover.

Passing the 1100 Metres, MIZANI and APOLLO'S CHOICE were hampered by DEEP THINKER which got its head on the side and shifted in.

Near the 950 Metres, MIZANI shifted out, resulting in APOLLO'S CHOICE being taken out onto ENTHUSIASM which was hampered.

For some distance after the 600 Metres, IT HAS TO BE YOU lost ground when crowded for room inside APOLLO'S CHOICE (W M Lai) which, after initially getting its head on the side and shifting in away from MIZANI which shifted in slightly, then became unbalanced and shifted in further.

W M Lai was advised that whilst there were some circumstances to this matter, nonetheless he would be expected in similar circumstances to make every endeavour to relieve tightening to other runners.

ALL YOU WISH had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.

The performance of IT HAS TO BE YOU, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, IT HAS TO BE YOU will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of ALL YOU WISH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Due to the fractious nature of MY LITTLE FRIEND, an endoscopic examination was unable to be performed on the horse, however, a partial endoscopic examination found that horse to be a "roarer".

DIVINE CALLING and BEAUTY FLAME were sent for sampling.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 8 October 2014 The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that CHEETAH BOY was found to have a swelling over the right front fetlock after racing.

Before being allowed to race again, CHEETAH BOY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of GOLD PRECIOUS, MIGHTY GAINS, SLEDGE HAMMER, HELLA HEDGE, UNBEATABLE GUTS, LUCKY HAMMER, EXECUTIVE MANDATE, TRIUMPHANT DRAGON, LA COTE DE BLEU, VERDANE, CULTURAL CITY, EXPEDITE, CONFUCIUS ELITE, KING OF HOUSEHOLD, SIGHT BELIEVER, CALLING WITH LOVE, DOMINEER and TURIN PEARL revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of INCREDIBLE FELLOW, ELEGANT FRAMES, D'OR WONGCHOY, DEMOKLES, STREET CAT, WRATH OF FIRE, REDWOOD BABY, PLAIN BLUE BANNER, EVERYONE'S CHOICE, COSTA DEL SOL, HOW SPEEDY, LUCKY DAY, HIT A HOME RUN, WIN IT, AMBER SKY, BUNDLE OF JOY, PENIAPHOBIA, GOLDEN DEER, CLEVER BEAVER, DA VINCI, BRILLIANT SHINE, MARVEL TRIBE, KHAYA and HELENE SUPER STAR (1.10.14) proved negative.
