Recap by phillip woo

Firming favourite Hit A Home Run was pulling a bit while travelling behind midfield near the rails when the pace slackened, straightened three deep, switched inside one off at the 250m and finished willingly to take control 120m out. He was suited by the step up to the mile. Win It handed up the lead to Dashing Super at the 1,000m, reclaimed the front 350m out and found one too classy. Zachary enjoyed the box-seat run, popped out four deep at the 300m and ran on steadily for a placing. Good Thinker settled one-out, one-back, straightened five deep and plugged on one-paced over the final 200m. Young Talent peeled widest out upon straightening after travelling third from the rear and ran on without menacing. Real General found a nice spot in midfield along the rails, shifted into the open with three wider out upon straightening and wasn't ridden out over the final 250m. Dashing Super took a while to cross to the lead at the 1,000m from a wide gate, cornered narrowly on top and was stopping 250m out. Telecom Prince only squeaked by beaten rivals after making his run at the back.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (052)-SHENYANG HANDICAP (Sec1) - Class 4 - 1600Metres

LUCKY COOKIE was slow to begin.

Near the 1300 Metres, TELECOM PRINCE was bumped by LUCKY COOKIE which shifted out before being directed in by its rider.

Near the 850 Metres, YOUNG TALENT was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY PIONEER.

At the same point, HIT A HOME RUN commenced to prove difficult to settle and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of REAL GENERAL which was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ZACHARY.

Then near the 700 Metres, YOUNG TALENT was again awkwardly placed close to the heels of LUCKY PIONEER.

Rounding the Home Turn, LUCKY PIONEER was bumped and taken wider by REAL GENERAL.

After the race, C Reith was dislodged from LUCKY PIONEER.

C Reith was examined by the Club's medical officers and passed fit to fulfil his remaining race riding engagements.

When questioned, J Moreira stated that REAL GENERAL was very disappointing given that it had a good run up until the Home Turn at which time the horse was able to be eased out into clear running.

He said when placed under pressure, REAL GENERAL finished off the race only one-paced and did not respond as anticipated.

A veterinary inspection of REAL GENERAL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

HIT A HOME RUN and WIN IT were sent for sampling.
