Recap by phillip woo
Plunged late, D'Or Wongchoy settled behind midfield and one off the rails after a sluggish get away, swung the final bend with one wider out and let down nicely to take control 60m out. He was too classy with the drop in class. Favourite Demokles went forward from an outside gate to stalk the leader one off in second, drew to the front passing the 400m and grudgingly gave way to finish level for second with Street Cat in a blanket finish of four for the minors. Street Cat recovered from his usual slow break to settle midfield along the fence, pulled out four deep at the 350m and then ran on steadily to draw level. Winning Premium enjoyed the box seat run, came one two off the fence at the 300m and plugged on well to just miss a placing by a bob of heads. He was suited by the rise in trip and won't be far off a winning run. Mazandaran had every chance after travelling fourth and one off the rails and just kept up a grinding gallop in the drive to the wire. Punted late, Robust Momentum never was a factor after settling second from the rear. Specked at odds, Silver Dragon enjoyed an uncontested lead through pedestrian fractions, cornered a length on top and was stopping 250m out. He's not a miler. Forever Ahead dumped his rider and hit the rails after getting spooked heading to the course and was withdrawn.
