Recap by phillip woo
Goldland Dancer was confidently ridden worse than midfield and two off the rails with cover, eased out coming to the final bend with two wider out and let down willingly to win going away 60m out under a light weight to notch win number three from six outings on this surface. Smiling Watch was parked fourth on the back of a good pace, advanced to the front four deep at the 300m and found one too good in the end. Riyadh was ridden cold from a wide alley and finished willingly to just miss the Quinella spot at long odds. He was suited by the tempo. Ho In One settled midfield along the paint, worked to second three deep at the 250m and peaked on his run 100m out. Ole Ole settled second from the rear and got going late without menacing. Early favourite Alpinefield was handy in the run and one off the rails, swung the final bend with three wider out and was struggling at the 150m. Late-plunged favourite Flying Unicorn was the meat in the sandwich vying for the lead through slick fractions with Racing Hero and None Other posted his outside and was giving way at the 200m. Vanilla made his run third from the rear and only got by well beaten rivals. Racing Hero held the fence and was gone at the 250m.
