Recap by phillip woo

Confucius Elite was able to find a position near the rails in midfield at the 800m from a wide gate, straightening one off and finished strongly to nail favourite Grand Pins in the final few strides for the win. Grand Plus went forward without cover from a tricky gate to sit second and one off the speed behind Call Me Achiever, looked a winning chance when shooting to the front three deep at the 350m and was surprised close to home. Call Me Achiever dictated an even clip, cornered a half-length on top and held on reasonably well to inject value into the tierce. Secret Agent travelled third along the fence and kept on all right to just hold Danewin Tiger for a First-4 spot. Danewin Tiger was patiently ridden among the backmarkers from the widest gate, swung the final bend with one wider out and was doing some nice work late with a return to Class Four. Hurry Hurry Up couldn't hold his position up on the speed when ridden along, cornered with two wider out in midfield and only held his ground. Plunged late, Polymer Win settled behind midfield and one off the rails, straightened three deep and made some ground early straight before flattening out final 200m. Smart Planet was ridden cold and only slipped passed a couple.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (013)-REPULSE BAY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Metres

MEDIC KINGDOM was slow to begin and then despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed.

EXPEDITE began only fairly.

From the outside barrier, DANEWIN TIGER was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 700 Metres, HURRY HURRY UP was left racing wide and without cover.

At the 300 Metres, EXPEDITE was checked when crowded for room inside SMART PLANET which was taken in by POLYMER WIN which, after initially being directed in slightly by FOREVER GENKI, then got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly of its own accord.

As the Stewards were of the opinion that POLYMER WIN??s abrupt shift inwards away from FOREVER GENKI had played a significant part in this incident, no further action was taken.

A veterinary inspection of MEDIC KINGDOM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

A veterinary inspection of HURRY HURRY UP immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

CONFUCIUS ELITE and GRAND PLUS were sent for sampling.
