Charlie Scott said he was “very sad” to be leaving Hong Kong, after confirming his departure from Kitchee following three seasons with the club.

Former Manchester United midfielder Scott said he had “heard nothing” from the recently deposed champions about a new contract, with his current deal expiring on May 31.

Mikael Severo, the Brazilian forward who scored 25 goals in 2023-24, has also played his last game for Kitchee.

The Post understands a number of other players are unhappy over the lack of clarity around their futures.

Scott recently told the Post he “would not be surprised if there were big changes” at the club, following a dismal end to the campaign.

The Englishman said he was desperately keen to stay to help Kitchee regain the title they surrendered to Lee Man this season. However, Scott said he signed for another club in Asia after not hearing any news about a contract with Kitchee.

“I am very sad to be leaving Hong Kong, but I have to do what I think is best for me,” he added.
