The Football Association of Hong Kong, China (HKFA) is the governing body for football in the city. Established in 1909, it is one of the game’s oldest governing bodies in Asia and organises various competitions from youth level to professional leagues. It also oversees the Hong Kong representative team.

The local game’s reputation has been severely damaged by a new match-fixing scandal. And the resignation of men’s team head coach Jorn Andersen is another blow. The drive to reboot Hong Kong football must start now. Fans deserve better.

Hong Kong government gave city’s football chiefs HK$24.2 million for the 2023-24 season, and former head coach Jorn Andersen says it has stopped the game growing in the city.
