Founded in Sangenjaya, Tokyo, popular cheesecake brand Cafe The Sun Lives Here has opened its first overseas location, in Hong Kong, at K11 Musea. The brand’s dairy desserts, known to sell out in a single minute online, include the signature Chilk three-layer cheesecakes in blueberry and marron flavours, alongside Chilk cookies. The key to their success has been the use of premium Japanese ingredients, including Tokachi cream cheese and fresh cream with 47 per cent fat from Hokkaido’s Konsen Plateau.

New to Tai Kwun, this Spanish eatery can be found in the colonnaded, brick-lined space in the former jail’s historic D Hall, with full views of the prison yard. Here, approachable tapas and Iberian wines reign, with chef Simon Lynch serving a variety of small dishes such as corn ribs, Galician octopus, ham croquettes and patatas bravas from the open kitchen.

A freshly transplanted brand from London, Dorsett, Kai Tak’s new rooftop bar boasts views over the whole of East Kowloon, making it the ideal place to catch the sunset this side of town. On the menu is a mix of baijiu-based concoctions, as well as cocktails bolstered by botanicals and ingredients sourced from around Asia. Weekend DJ performances, coupled with the cooler weather, make this drinking destination worth the trip.
