Akatsuki Izakaya has relocated from Causeway Bay to new and larger premises on Duddell Street, Central, taking up residence underneath French fine-dining restaurant Plaisance. The food here, led by head chef Stone Chen, dials into classic izakaya dishes, from kushikatsu to yakitori – all the better for the many Japanese beer and sake pairings on offer. And for the office crowd nearby, bento boxes and donburi are available during the day.

JW Marriott’s all-day dining lounge is back after a major renovation. The space now boasts a refreshed, elegant interior, while the culinary team, led by executive chef Tony Wong, has revamped the culinary offerings, from a salad and sushi bar, to a carb station featuring 10 kinds of pasta and noodles, as well as a teppanyaki counter. Diners can indulge in the full buffet for HK$438 per person or pick one station to eat their fill for a more wallet-friendly option.
