The festival’s centrepiece, Popnorama, will take place on the Wonderland stage on November 2 and 3. The first night will spotlight popular local artists such as Anson Lo Hon-ting from Mirror, the girl group Collar and emerging stars like Yan Ting, Jeffrey Ngai Tsun-sang and Phoebus Ng from P1X3L. The second night will feature international stars, including Jorja Smith, who was named best female solo artist at the Brit Awards in 2019; Japanese singer and actress Hikari Mitsushima, who starred in the 2022 romantic drama First Love; and hitmakers Colde and SHOU, from South Korea and Taiwan, respectively.

Hosted by The Box at Freespace, local independent music producer J1M3 will present Celestial Unboxed, an explorative concept that assigns one of the four elements of fire, earth, water and wind to each singer. On the line-up are Jaime Cheung from the Beanies, Kendy Suen, Zelos Wong and Zeno Koo, whose performances will be enhanced with lighting and video effects that underline their element.

Aside from acoustic pleasures, Popfest will have no shortage of visual spectacles. Chief among these is the immersive light installation Submergence, created by Britain-based artistic team Squidsoup and exhibited at Harbourside Lawn East. Against this backdrop, an outdoor dance party, titled “Submerged Paradise” and curated by choreographer Shing Mak, will feature performances over three nights from the likes of Stanley Yau Sze-chun from Mirror and Fatboy from Error, alongside dancers from the Hong Kong Dance Company.

Free programmes are open to the public, including performances at multiple outdoor stages across West Kowloon by acts such as OtomeSyndream, Yellow!, Ng Lam Fung, Jason Kui, Prune Deer, The Hertz and Manson.

Tickets from HK$780 to HK$1,680. For details, visit westk.hk
