The registry is a feature highlighted at the new headquarters of the city’s Immigration Department.

Wong Kwan-yin, principal immigration officer, on Wednesday highlighted the new facility’s wedding hall featuring a multicoloured light installation, as well as a garden outside the marriage registry for newlyweds to pose for pictures.

“Couples are welcome to host their ceremony in our new marriage registry located in the Tseung Kwan O headquarters. A parterre and a garden are designed for them to take pictures and celebrate with family and friends,” Wong said.

He added that 46 couples had registered to hold their wedding at the city’s sixth marriage registry, which would open on June 26.

The other five locations are at Cotton Tree Drive and City Hall in Central, and in Tsim Sha Tsui, Sha Tin and Tuen Mun.

All the department’s sections and services, including application and collection of identity cards and passports, will be moved from its current office in Wan Chai to the new address on Po Yap Road in Tseung Kwan O, from June 11.
