Showers expected to continue in Hong Kong, Observatory says after cancelling amber rainstorm warning

Showers and squally thunderstorms were expected to continue to affect Hong Kong on Thursday, after the weather forecaster cancelled an amber rainstorm warning signal on Wednesday evening.

The signal was in effect for two hours until 7pm, according to the Observatory, but it warned of potential danger brought about by river flooding.

It said the weather on Thursday morning would be mainly cloudy but sunny intervals were expected in the afternoon, with the temperature ranging from (81 to 90 Fahrenheit).

Showers were expected to lesson on Friday as the upper-air disturbance affecting southern China departed.

The mercury will continue to stay between 28 and 32 degrees.
