On October 4, Couture Rhapsody will celebrate the intersection of fashion and music, aligning with the museum’s current exhibition, “Guo Pei: Fashioning Imagination”, a retrospective on China’s leading couture designer.

Guo, whose career spans close to three decades, contributed 40-plus haute-couture pieces to this first major exhibition of her work produced in China. Having dressed everyone from Rihanna, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga to Fan Bingbing and Zhang Ziyi, Guo often incorporates elements of Chinese heritage into her work, such as traditional embroidery techniques and motifs, while adapting to contemporary fashion trends.

Guided tours of the exhibition will be held at regular intervals throughout the night, while elsewhere at M+ a line-up of talented performers under the Warner Music umbrella are slated to perform, including Hong Kong singer-songwriters Panther Chan, Gigi Cheung and Lewsz, alongside Singaporean singer-songwriter-actor Nathan Hartono.

The night will also feature performances by DJ Ming Wong and DJ Samir and, with hip hop, R&B, EDM and techno keeping the dance floor going late into the night.

Interactive activities add to the after-dark fun. At the Drawing Dreams workshop, you will be able to explore Guo’s intricate motifs and create dreamlike designs; while the Collective Embroidery corner invites you to contribute to a collaborative art piece.
