It was inevitable that customisable solutions would appear – and, in recent years, a number of brands have been built on the premise of hair products that are formulated especially for you.

This saves customers from having to go through a cycle of trial and error thanks to shampoos, conditioners and treatments that factor in everything from hair texture and colouring to the water quality where a person lives.

In theory, the concept sounds perfect – finally, a personal solution to all our hair care needs – but is it really the grooming salvation we have been waiting for?
