However, Abhinav Arora’s rise to prominence has also drawn scrutiny, raising questions about child celebrity, faith and his family’s motives.

Known as the “Bal Sant”, or Child Saint, Abhinav’s spiritual journey started early. According to his mother, Jyoti Arora, her son’s profound interest in religion began at the age of three.

“Kids carry their choices embedded in their genes. That’s why some kids are more interested in music while some are interested in painting, sports, dance or any other activity,” she told This Week in Asia. “From the very beginning, Abhinav has an immense interest in spirituality.”

Arora, who handles Abhinav’s social media accounts, said her son adheres to a strict vegetarian diet, eating only food that has already been ceremonially offered during worship.

In December 2023, Abhinav received national recognition when Union Minister Nitin Gadkari honoured him as India’s “youngest spiritual orator”. This endorsement catapulted him into the public eye, attracting a devoted following that views him as a potential spiritual guide.
