The Hong Kong facility, which will be operated by Cainiao, can process up to 15,000 orders per day, the US firm said on Thursday.

The centre is 500 metres from the Hong Kong International Airport Cargo Terminal and 2 kilometres from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, iHerb said.

The company, which specialises in health and wellness products, is ramping up operations in Hong Kong with the goal of achieving faster delivery in the region, iHerb chief operating officer Miriee Chang said in a statement.

Cainiao was originally planning to go public in Hong Kong in September last year as part of Alibaba Group’s sweeping restructuring process, but the parent company withdrew Cainiao’s initial public offering in March. Alibaba owns the South China Morning Post.
