Former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan got his transfer from the Bundesliga club to Manchester City ending days of speculation after using social media to insist the club complete the transfer.
The German international took to Twitter on Thursday morning to hurry the club into ending his wait and confirm the transfer.
Manchester City then used Twitter to inform the 25-year-old that they would oblige and confirmed the deal.
The ex-Nurnberg player becomes the first signing of Pep Guardiola’s reign at the City of Manchester stadium.
Gundogan will miss the European Championship in France after injuring his knee last month.
