It’s the final day of the 2023 Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens on Sunday, and that means the silverware and final placings are up for grabs for the men and women.
Here’s everything you need to know.
When does the Sevens start?
The gates open early again on Sunday: you can get in and grab your preferred seats in So Kon Po from 7am onwards.
After more mini-rugby between 7.20am and 8.10am, the men’s matches begin at 8.30am with the fight for the minor places. The Cup quarterfinals follow from 10.02am.
The day builds to the women’s and men’s Cup finals, at 7.40pm and 8.15pm respectively, before the day ends at 8.45pm.

Day 3 highlights
New Zealand will take on dark horses Argentina, with France up against Spain in a tasty all-Europe clash.
Fiji then battle South Africa, with the USA up against Great Britain. All four matches will take place on Sunday morning.
Hong Kong’s men will go up against last year’s champions Australia in a ninth-place quarter-final at 9.39am, looking to end their campaign with a shock win.
Then the women’s Cup semi-finals will take centre stage, with Australia facing Great Britain at 2.43pm, and New Zealand against Fiji at 3.06pm.

Hong Kong Sevens tickets
Sevens tickets are available from the official HKRU ticketing platform.
Prices were frozen at 2019 levels, with a three-day pass costing HK$1,950 for adults and HK$950 for children aged 12 and under.
Limited numbers of day passes have also been on sale via Klook.
Is there a Sevens fan zone?
Yes – located directly across the road from Hong Kong Stadium.


Travelling from abroad
Fans – if any have suffered acute FOMO and jetted in for the final day – need no longer complete quarantine on arrival, nor will they be barred (as they risked being in November) from entry to the stadium for having the wrong health status.
Travellers are advised to check Hong Kong’s general border entry requirements.
Sevens on TV and online
Viewers in Hong Kong can catch all of the action on i-CABLE’s sports channel.
All three days are being broadcast on i-CABLE’s channel 76 in English, and select matches in Cantonese on channel 77.
