The match became the first event announced for the site’s smaller venue, Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground, three days after the local association confirmed the main stadium would host its marquee Hong Kong Sevens tournament from 2025.

Brazil are making their first visit to Hong Kong for a two-Test series. The first game is set for Hong Kong Football Club on November 9, before the 5,000-capacity Kai Tak ground stages the second match seven days later.

Jo Hull, Hong Kong China Rugby’s executive director of performance, said the men’s team was on the cusp of “an absolutely critical nine months”.

The winners of next year’s Asia Rugby Championship will gain entry into the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia. Back in June, Hong Kong won their fifth straight continental title, before a South American tour in which they beat Paraguay and Brazil, following a defeat by Chile.
