The first of 88 meetings that comprise the 2016-17 Hong Kong racing season is met with much fanfare. Held at Sha Tin on September 3, a rare Saturday for the opening meeting, over 30,000 people are expected trackside as Hong Kong's favourite pastime begins once again after an eight-week hiatus.
