Chad Schofield is a South African-born rider who began his career in Australia. Son of Glyn, who rode 151 winners in Hong Kong between 2002 and 2006, Schofield spent part of his childhood watching Sha Tin races from his apartment. Following in his father's footsteps, he began his own riding career in 2010 and quickly found success, being named champion apprentice in both Sydney and Melbourne and winning big races like the Cox Plate and the Newmarket Handicap. The 2015-16 season is his first in Hong Kong.
