Recap by phillip woo

Mr Energia made his run from the rear from gate 14 to just get the nose down to deny long-time leader Beauty Glory for a second win and first over 1,400m from nine starts. Beauty Glory nearly made all from gate eight. He appreciated a downgrade. Galvanic ran on for third without threatening the top two after getting held up for a run until the 200m travelling fifth last from gate seven. He's close to a win following back-to-back thirds. Jumbo Fortune ran on for fourth after a rails run from behind midfield. He keeps promising without winning this season. Beautiful Win got going late near the inside for fifth after making his run second last following a slow start. He's shown a bit more spark in his past two of six starts. Patch Of Time had his chance but wasn't good enough after a handy run along the inside from gate four. He does appear from his past three starts to be on his mark after back-to-back wins.
