Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Blazing Wind settled one-out, one-back, hit the front 250m out and just scrambled in for a first win at his eighth start. Top Dragon wove a run to make it close on the wire after settling fifth last from gate six. He was able to build on an encouraging seventh on debut last month. Tactical Command ran on steadily for third without threatening the top two after a one-off trip from midfield. It was a return to form. Talents Supremo ran on well for fourth after a rails run from midfield. He was able to back up a similar result 11 days ago over the Sha Tin 1,200m. Fun N Glory gradually faded after chasing the leader Divine Moonlight one off the fence in second from gate 12 with late market action. It was a typical performance. I Am The Boss only plodded when asked for an effort after landing a box-seat spot from gate nine.

Racing Incident Report

Race One : (356) - BEAT THE CLOCK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 DASHING DRAGON (J464) B Thompson Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by FUN N GLORY which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.

Noted to have lost its right front plate after the race.

Horse No 2 BLAZING WIND (J157) J McDonald Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 I AM THE BOSS (H446) A Hamelin For some distance approaching the 250 Metres attempted a narrow run between DIVINE MOONLIGHT and FUN N GLORY.

When FUN N GLORY (K Teetan) lay in slightly near the 250 Metres, I AM THE BOSS was checked when awkwardly placed close to the heels of FUN N GLORY and as a result lost ground.

K Teetan was advised to exercise more care.

However, the Stewards found that the run I AM THE BOSS was improving into was tight which contributed to the incident.

Horse No 5 DIVINE MOONLIGHT (K119) B Shinn After the event, B Shinn stated that after obtaining the lead DIVINE MOONLIGHT, which was having its first race start, did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight and, in his opinion, would derive benefit from today's race experience.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 6 FIT BEAUTY (J483) A Atzeni Throughout the event raced ungenerously and got its head up near the 1000 Metres when positioned close to TACTICAL COMMAND.

Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race.

Before being allowed to race again, FIT BEAUTY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 7 MUSANG KING (K068) C L Chau Bumped at the start.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 8 TOP DRAGON (J481) H Bentley Jumped only fairly.

Approaching the 250 Metres was momentarily crowded between TALENTS SUPREMO and I AM THE BOSS which shifted out slightly.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 9 GREAT SPIRIT (J155) M F Poon Near the 400 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of FIT BEAUTY.

After the event, M F Poon stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to settle further back to obtain cover behind FIT BEAUTY.

He added that in the Home Straight his mount ran on fairly and attempted to jump a section on the track near the 170 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 MEEPMEEP (H234) B Avdulla After the event, B Avdulla stated that his mount jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start blundered badly and as a consequence became unbalanced and lost ground.

He added that MEEPMEEP settled further back in the field than had been intended but finished the race off reasonably well and he was not too disappointed with the performance of the horse.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) A Badel After the event, A Badel stated that from a favourable barrier TACTICAL COMMAND was able to hold a more forward position than it did at its most recent start.

Horse No 13 FUN N GLORY (G003) K Teetan Shifted in abruptly at the start.

Near the 900 Metres was eased when crossed by DIVINE MOONLIGHT (B Shinn) which shifted in when not quite clear.

B Shinn was advised to exercise more care.

Horse No 4 CALIFORNIA BLITZ (J370) M Chadwick After arriving at the barriers was kicked by another runner.

Acting on veterinary advice that CALIFORNIA BLITZ was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.

Before being allowed to race again, CALIFORNIA BLITZ will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
